And he's 9!

Around here, birthdays are busy days.  Max woke up to his door, candy gram, a mantle full of presents and a table set for birthday breakfast. He's so funny, up early - filled with anxiety and excitement but he stays in his room until  it is "OK" to come out.  (Good thing Kenna helped me decorate the door EARLY this morning). The kids can never resist those presents and a few have to be opened in the morning but we always leave the big ones for later when Dad is there to see it too.  After a few gifts, we hurried to get on our swimsuits and pack our bags because Max's friends were on their way, ready to celebrate at Splashtown with us.

It was a full day!  I left the 2 little boys at home but even so trying to keep track of Kenna and 5 boys in a big waterpark when no one has cell phones was kind of crazy!!!  I had more than a few anxiety attacks.  But we packed it all in, had a great time, and came home exhausted.  But of course the day was not done, we had to have a dinner, cake, and open the rest of the presents.  Max pieced together a birthday message in puzzle form from Grandma & Grandpa, got some $, Lakers stuff, games, and the big present - an i-touch!!  Max looks exhausted blowing out his cake but I'm pretty sure he went to bed happy.

9 Things we LOVE about Max

1. He gets excited about big things - slides, roller coasters, etc. and can be quite the dare-devil

2. He is a great help at home

3. He loves his sister and brothers and is good to them

4. He works hard in school, piano, and trying to do what is right

5. You can trust this guy

6. He is very empathetic and kind - he hates seeing someone else hurt

7. He is content to just chill at home - it's nice that he likes us!

8. He's an open kid and talks to us about all sorts of things

9. He's catches on to things quickly and is always up for a competition (always deeply invested in winning)

We love you and are so glad you've paved the way in our parenthood!  We couldn't ask for a better kid.
