The kids were so excited this morning - they all woke up around 7 (which is early for a summer morning). They couldn't wait to celebrate Cade's 1st birthday! Cade, however, had no idea it was a big day and continued snoozing away to their frustration. After much listening by the door, it was finally determined that he was waking up and we stormed into the room. Cade wasn't sure what was going on but balloons in the bed and happy faces were ok with him.
Due to our very busy day, we were not going to be able to celebrate around dinner time so to insure we got it in - we started the day with cake in ice cream. The bigger kids were HUGE fans of this and Cade didn't mind either. He dug right into that cake - Mmmmm....chocolaty yumness!
As always, when the day is busy, I do my best to celebrate the birthday whenever we can squeeze it in. So Cade got his favorite lunch, we made Toy Story alien cupcakes, and found time for presents at night after Max's basketball game. Cade is such a fun and happy guy - we all adore him. So glad he popped into our family early on a Sunday morning. Flag day is so much more enjoyable now that it is his day too!
