Reuniting

On Wednesday night I arrived here...
and then drove to here.  Isn't it gorgeous?
After many years of talking and dreaming, my friend Alyson organized a girls' reunion trip to McCall, Idaho.  You see 16 years ago I went on the most fabulous study abroad program with the most wonderful people.  About 240 of us lived together in Jerusalem for 5 1/2 months and learned to love the land, the people, and the history of that place.  Most of all, we grew in our understanding and love for Jesus Christ as we studied his life and sacrifice.

It was one of the greatest weekends ever.  Like one person said, "We started right where we left off - but even better."  While I have kept in touch somewhat with many of these girls, we had so much catching up to do!  So we talked and talked and talked and laughed harder than I have in ages.  These ladies have influenced my life for good in so many ways and it is extraordinary to see how beautiful and amazing they continue to be.  I think we discussed almost every topic under the sun and if given more time would have been content to visit for longer.
We ate out, cooked in, hit some hot springs, made jewelry (thanks Kara!), tried to watch movies, shared memories complete with pictures (is that a man?  A woman? Oh my gosh, its ____!), stayed up till all hours, and soaked in the experience of being together.  These women lift me and inspire me.  There is nothing like friendships that make years apart seems like no time at all.
Can't wait to see you all again - looking forward to fall 2012!
