Whew! I flew back into town yesterday with the 3 kids (Mike is in AZ for work). One lemonade spill, one water spill, 3 trantrums with Brett who only wanted to get down in the aisle and crawl, one false potty alert with Kenna who quickly changed her mind about going once she saw the airplane's potty, one almost lost shoe - one of the pilots went back to the plane for us to search for it, and one very tired mom. But it could have been much worse and once we finally got the dvd player working there was some sanity. But...I don't think I'll do the just mom and 3 kids airplane ride again anytime soon!
Seeing as there was no food in the house once we arrived home, I packed up the kids and went to the grocery store. Kenna decided to wear her pink princess nightgown, red tights, and green tinkerbell shoes for the occassion. What a sight we were with Kenna and Max zooming around w/their mini-shopping carts and me with the big one and Brett. Side note - As soon as we arrived the kids announced they were dying of thirst and Kenna started singing a song about how bad she had to go to the potty. I was not too thrilled with the situation. I asked her to hold it and we hurried to get our groceries. Upon checking out - one the checkers(a friend of ours) noticed Kenna jumping up and down and offered to take her to the bathroom. Kenna mostly made it but came back sans tights because there was a bit of an accident. Wouldn't you know it?
The house is still decked out for Christmas, 1/2 the bags are unpacked, Max came home from school sick today - so off to the dr., positive strep test, 2 trips to the pharmacy, and now we are all home tomorrow. Guess I can finish unpacking and start taking down the decorations. All in all though, we are glad to be home - we loved our Christmas and New Years in UT but 17 days is a long time and it looks like it is time to jump back into real life.
