I have been thinking a LOT about this word lately. Several months ago some girlfriends and I were talking about picking a word for the year. The word would define you and what you were trying to accomplish/be for that year. As I reflect on my day-to-day life, I realize that I want to enjoy it more. I want to enjoy my kids more - I want to play with them, have fun with them, take joy in the things they are doing. I know they will be this age for such a short time and I so I need to enjoy it and not get caught up in the little things or focus on the things I wish were different. I also want to enjoy time with my husband more and the great things about him. He loves to relax and play and can easily overlook a dirty house or late dinner and sometimes a grouchy Mimi. I also want to just ENJOY life more - so I am trying to exercise more regularly, I am reading the scriptures daily (by myself and with my family), I am trying to reach out to friends and be more involved, and more - you get the point.
So yesterday was a great ENJOY day - I had been so sick the previous week and I was just happy to finally be able to get a few things done. I was happy to do 7 loads of laundry, clean the car, dance wtih the kids, and finish up some projects that need to be sent off as late bday presents. I enjoyed helping Kenna paint and had to laugh at her blue body art. When Kenna wanted me to play on the playground equipment with her - I thought "why not" and went on the slide, through the lion tunnel, etc. Sure everything didn't go smoothly - in fact, when Mike called me yesterday he said, "Well I'll let you go, it sounds like you have your hands full right now." I replied, "Honey, I always have my hands full" - it's true isn't it? But the point is, I tried not to focus on the negative and rolled with it. I think sometimes you just need to say yes a little more, stress a little less, and realize that soon one more day will pass so you might as well enjoy it.

Love it! So true.
Enjoy is a good word of the year. Maybe I'll have to copy you. I should try and put that work on the desktop of my computer so I'll see it every time I get online. Or, put in on the shutters above the kitchen sink. That way I'll be sure to see it hundreds of times a day!
I was thinking about making a wooden block with vinyl letters so I have the constant reminder.
Thanks! I so needed an uplifting thought today since I seem to be UN-enjoying things (like the weather) today,
Mindi
I love it! I really think you're right. I need to remember that, too!
