In loving memory

Mike's dad passed away on the night of February 12. He had been battling multiple myleoma cancer for a few years and after contracting several infections, succumbed to the disease. Luckily Mike was able to be with his dad on that day and along with his sisters and mother, spent some special time with his father as they reminisced and said good-bye.

We miss Scott, "our Papa", dearly and are so grateful for the wonderful influence and example he has been in our lives. He loved us unconditionally and was always happy to see us. At his funeral it was said that, "he didn't have a mean bone in his body". He didn't - he was always kind, accepting, and took life as it came to him - never complaining about anything.

Scott was a humble and great man. He loved his family and he loved his God. He left us a great legacy that we only hope we can continue. While we miss him now, we know that the day will come when we will have the opportunity to be reunited with him and be together once more. How thankful I am for the gospel plan and for the wonderful men who have blessed my life.

Natalie (Mike's youngest sister) shared a letter that Scott had written to her when she left on her mission. At his funeral she read a letter to him - much like the one he had written several years prior. Her sentiments speak for all of us. We love you Scott and will always remember you.

Dear Mimi and Mike,

I'm so sorry to hear about Mike's dad passing away. What a blessing it is to have the gospel in our lives and to know that we can be together as families in the eternities.
