Before school starts, we had our traditional back to school dinner. We have a theme for the year, crowns for the school kids, and eat in the dining room (a big deal for us). This year's theme is: "Do your Best". We talked about the importance of working hard and putting your all into it and then being OK with whatever happens because you tried. I love these kids, the last few weeks have been a bit crazy and we have all felt a bit housebound due to repairs and unbearable heat outside but I know I'll miss them. School just a few days a week would be nice.
Mike gave everyone priesthood blessings to guide and comfort them through this new year. Brett wasn't too sure about having a special prayer/blessing just for him but Cade had no problem with it. I loved how after Kenna was done he plopped right down on that chair and just waited. Mike wasn't quite sure what to bless our 2-year-old with, mostly growth and health, but we figured if he wanted one, a blessing wouldn't hurt him. For Max and Kenna, tomorrow is the big day. Backpacks are ready, clothes picked out, just hope they can fall asleep tonight.
