Growing up, we used to dress up, eat at a very nice restaurant, and watch the Nutcracker Ballet every year. This year I thought I would try this tradition out with my own children. We bought tickets for the matinee show and headed downtown. The kids were so good to dress up and we WONDERFUL throughout the entire production. Max was a little surprised there was no talking but still said it was "good"(his favorite part was when the Chinese men danced). Kenna loved it! She liked Clara and the Sugar Plum fairy and practice her own dance moves after the show. She is more than ready to make this an annual tradition.
There was this wonderfully huge gingerbread house in the foyer and after making one of our own - we just had to stop and admire it. It was a special Christmas-y afternoon and we really enjoyed it. It's amazing to me that my kids are getting old enough to do things like this - oh how I love it!!
