Thanks to my dad, Max had his Pinewood Derby car all ready to go - almost. Thank goodness we went to the weigh-in the night before. Who knew our car was so underweight? Luckily there were a few kind souls with extra weights who happily sold them to us. With the added weight we were set for the for the big night.
Wow, were these cars decked out! Max's car was the Green Cobra - sleek and fast enough to come in fourth. One thing learned, Pinewood Derby racing is a BIG DEAL and not one to be taken lightly - computer generated racing grids, 4 lane tracks, and high emotion. Now that we have our feet wet, we'll really take them next year... maybe.
