The Elementary went all out in their celebration this year. Jumpy areas and slides, Popsicles, Christmas characters, a candy cane walk, and the cutest station where the kids were given scoops of yummy stuff to make up their reindeer feed. Compared to a little cupcake in their classroom, being able to run around with all the kids from their grade level and try everything out - it was a real party! Max was having so much fun that he ended up running down an inflatable slide in an attempt to race a friend. Bad idea - he was writhing in pain, and struggled so much in the nurse's office that we decided a trip to the ER was necessary. After several X-rays, they concluded that nothing was broken but the arm was strained so Max went home with a sling that he wore on and off for several days. With 3 boys, I figure this is just part of the experience - parties paired with the ER - at least it turned out not so bad.
