Moms - I LOVE moms! (And of course dads too!) Never more than when I've just had a new baby and really need mine. My mom was on stand-by once again and flew out the day after Cade was born. She stayed for 2 whole weeks and was a total God-send. I could have never made it through Max's birthday, baptism, and Cade's blessing without her. She made meals, entertained kids, cleaned the house, let me rest, ran my errands, folded clothes, did the dishes, took care of bedtime, held Cade during those wee morning hours and more!
After she left (always hard for me), my wonderful mother-in-law Chris stayed for several days and did the same. One of my favorite moments during her stay was the morning I saw two sets of feet through my window - her's and little Brett's. It was 7:45 in the morning, I was nursing Cade, and they were putting on Brett's swimsuit. I watched as they got into the pool and swam around in delight. Not too much later, I heard shouts of joy saw Kenna and Max ran out to join in the fun! Such a fun way to start the day and something I have NEVER done - what a wonderful "Grandy".
So now all the company and help is gone and I am doing my best to survive on my own. Oh how I miss the automatic laundry folding and dishwasher emptying and clean floor! It's ironic but now that I am a mom, I realize how much I NEED a MOM!
Love to you both and THANK YOU!!!

I definitely agree! Mom is missed around here, too. Moms are wonderful!
I couldn't agree more!
Love that Mama!
That early morning swim with my beautiful grandchildren was one of the highlights of my visit---among the many, many other highlights. It's always fun to be at the Keyser home and feel of their love. Mimi, your recap of the past few months was beautiful...it made me cry happy tears for all the many blessings we enjoy. I love you all sooo much. Grandy
I'm totally sobbing right now. The picture you posted of you and your mom seems to capture that your mom understands how wonderful it is to be a mom and grandma. Sometimes, I think Asian cultures really have it down - the parent and in-laws often living in the home with you. Sometimes, I envy them, and sometimes, I'm relieved the have my house to ourselves!
