What a week!

Cade turned 2-weeks on Sunday and went in for his first Dr.'s visit on Monday. Previously many people had asked me about his birth weight or asked if he was born early - usually remarking that he looked so tiny. Well, I had been feeding him a lot (at least I thought); he was eating every 2 hours. But the weigh-in confirmed it - he was way too tiny! His discharge weight had been 6.14 lbs., but his 2-week weight was only 6.5lbs. - Yikes! Turns out my milk just isn't cutting it and we need to supplement with formula too. Poor guy, part of his crankiness has probably been due to hunger. We are working on fixing that.*
On Thursday, Cade was nearly thrown-up on by his brother Brett (who has really had every kind of illness you can have since Cade has been home). On Friday, Cade came down with pink-eye (thanks Brett) - what a goopy mess, hopefully the antibiotic drops will take care of this thing. Poor guy, kind of overwhelming for a fellow just entering his 3rd week of life.

* The Friday weigh-in and other follow-ups have shown him gaining weight. We just really feed him all the time now.
**I think everyone in our family has now come down with a nasty cold and pink-eye. So much for summer.

Oh, poor little guy. And, not fun for the rest of you either. And, curious to know if he's less fussy now that you have been supplementing. I sure hope so! Don't you just love it when you figure things out :-)

Hopefully he's less fussy and sleeps more with a satisfied belly. I'm sorry you guys are having the sickies at your house. That doesn't make anything easier for you.
