4th of July

Our 4th of July was pretty laid back this year (a new baby and no more extra help with do that to you).  Luckily, our neighborhood supplied us with a little bike parade, fire engine showing, and early morning  Popsicles - enough to make the morning at least feel special.  We hung out and swam, had burgers, and then good old Dad brought out the sparklers.  Brett was a little scared of them but with help was able to wave one around.  We figured with our drought-like conditions there would be no neighborhood fireworks (there had been many warnings against them) so we settled in to watch them on TV.  Well, Texans will be Texans - and our neighbors still put on an impressive show of which we were happy to reap the benefits.  Yeah America!
