Hawaii

All along the main level of the hotel are ponds filled with koi fish.  Every morning, you could grab a little cup of food and feed the fish.  Brett loved it.  The fish are crazy and jump up, splash everywhere, and practically suck the food from your fingertips.  The rest of the day, they swim lazily around but during feeding time it is like a fish stampede.  Very fun to watch.  It was also fun to people watch around our hotel.
They were in the process of filming Pirates of the Caribbean 4 and 900 of the cast and crew were at the resort with us.  I did think there were some funky beards and hairstyles going on at the pool until I got this bit of news and then it all made sense.  We had a pool Cabana by Gibbs and his daughter but never did spy Johnny Depp - word was due to all the attention, he was moved to a private house the day before we got there.

Jumping in the cabana - why not make it a trampoline?

We rode a train through Hawaiian vegetation, went on morning runs, spent most of the day in a bathing suit, went on several runs to Costco (we all took a turn making an evening meal), and even got a baby sitter one night so all the adults could go out.  Simply beautiful! It's no wonder my kids say this is their favorite vacation.
