Kenna is 7! All year long she has looked forward to this day (just a little pressure). This year she has gone through multiple birthday plans. I have discovered quite a few of these in writings she brings home from school. Together, we finally decided that Kenna and I would head to the American Girl Store in Dallas. Right now in her mind, there is no greater place. The bags have been packed, the friend and mom invited, and at 1:00, Kenna will be picked up from school to start the adventure. I couldn't ask for more excited or beautiful 7-year-old!
Because we are leaving, our family birthday celebration had to be crammed into the hour before school started. Kenna had been super sick with the stomach flu all week and we wondered if our Dallas trip would even happen. But in true Kenna fashion, she hopped up saying she was fine, and gladly opened presents (money, wallet, and a purse for the trip; an American Girl movie; and a few other fun things). Kenna passed on most of her breakfast - even the birthday cupcakes. Her appetite is not quite back but this birthday girl is determined to enjoy her day. Let's hope it lives up to her expectations...
