Several months ago, I bought some wake boarding lesson groupons and now was the time to use them. We have tried to teach our kids on the boat but must be lousy teachers because it hasn't worked out so well. We drove to the middle of nowhere and found our spot. The kids were pulled along a cable and got and learned to get up, balance, and Max even cut back and forth a bit. Kenna is so small, that she needed more help getting up and all the equipment seemed a bit overwhelming. She got up for a bit but was content when her turn was over. She quickly found great joy in the sand and could have stayed there for hours. While Max was taking another turn, a tow truck came and towed a submerged car out of the water - apparently someone had driven it into the water the night before and it was at down by the ramp area. Weird!
After the lesson, the kids were given free reign on the obstacle course - the conclusion was that it looked more fun than it actually was. The whole thing was an interesting experience - we'll have to see how this all translates when we are on the boat.
