July is our month for vacation, freedom, and heat. With an open holiday weekend, we finally went out on the boat. Snacks, swimming, lots of tubing, and a bit of wakeboarding (the kids dominated our agenda). We were amazed at the low water level - with this TX drought, boating is getting more difficult - we couldn't even pull up to the dock, the water was so shallow. Combined with the heat, the water was like a HOT bath, seriously. There were a lot of pea jokes and we were all searching for cold spots. It was fun to be together and we were so glad our friends the Cooks could join us. Boating is great family time - we're lucky we can do it.
