Yellowstone

Today we went to Yellowstone. Having my kids see the Tetons, Old Faithful, all the sulfur smelling hotpots, miles of forest - it is a delight.  They have never experienced this part of the country and I love showing it to them.  Being outside here makes you feel so alive and there is just so much room to run and wander free.  We talked to the cutest older couple as we waited for Old Faithful - they met 50 years ago when they both working here and have been together ever since. They come back to Yellowstone as often as they can because this place is magical.  I think they are right - I know I have fallen in love with it.
On the way home we searched for animals and were pleased as punch to see 3 huge, beautiful bison grazing in the field.  Brett has been so cute - I bought him a bunch of little animals and every time he sees something he says, "I need my deer", "Where is my eagle", "I got get my buffalo".  He makes me smile. We stopped at Teton Lodge for some ice cream (mmm... huckleberry) and soak in the view.  Once outside, my kids had to run up the trail and see how high they could get.  I literally had to drag them back to the car.  Oh how I love this!  The goodness of nature is just filling our souls. :)
