Head Cheerleader

As we were preparing to head to our 7th game of cheering, Kenna announces, "Mom, I'm going to be the head cheerleader today."  Really?  I replied, "How do you know?"  (This is usually a big announcement before the game and it tends to be a surprise).  "Because everyone else has already done it."  The amazing thing is, this didn't seem to bother her, she and just noticed it and was stating it matter-of-factly.  Kenna doesn't get into girl/friend/comparing herself to others drama and that is a wonderful thing.  Sure enough, Kenna was right and happily wore the cheer pin and led the cheers along with the other head cheerleader, Gabby.  She did a great job and kept up the fun even knowing their football team was not going to win.  (She also said before the game, "I know who's going to win the game - the other team!" It's been a rough season for the boys.) Kenna has learned some much and it is so fun to watch her.  Way to go girl!
