Feeling Festive

This weekend we headed over to see some of Kenna's friends perform in a children's choir.  Little did we know this was one big festival!  Kenna and her friend Elise had a blast playing in the snow, getting their faces painted, scoring free nachos & balloon animals, jumping on the inflatables, and listening to the choir.  It was quite the afternoon - the boys really missed out.
The following night was our neighborhood's annual Christmas hayride.  We met Santa and his reindeer (turns out they aren't the friendliest animals), grabbed some hot chocolate and cookies, and jumped into the trailer to check out the lights.  I must say it was the fastest hayride I have EVER been on - I think the driver forgot he was pulling kids behind him.  We tried to appreciate the lights but they were whizzing by in a sort of blur.  The gated section was locked and then it started raining -  we weren't all that upset when the ride was finally over.  Viewing the lights in our warm car was the more enjoyable way to go this year but we won't give up on the hayride because hey, it's tradition.
