Bluebells in Blossom

Today we picked the kids up early from school, anticipating a great tour of the Blue Bell ice cream factory.  It was a Monday afternoon and there would be at least 3 tour times left before it closed.  Unfortunately, I miscalculated - unbeknownst to me, many in the local area had school off so all the tours were completely full.  This was a huge disappointment - when had driven all that way! So we spent time reading info, bought toys at the gift shop, and enjoyed ice cream at the ice cream parlor.
On the drive back, we had to frolic in the fields filled with the Texas state flower.  The bluebells came out early this year and will soon be gone, so we enjoyed soaking in what we could find.
Upon arriving home, I was startled to see a sign in our yard - after almost 7 years of living here, we were awarded yard of the month.  (I told Mike all the $ we spent on new flowers was worth it!)

So sad about the factory being full! Ice cream stops are the best. At least you still got to eat ice cream and play in the blue bells. And congrats on Yard of the Month! That's pretty awesome!
