Learning
Sometimes (a lot of the time) being a mom is hard. Lately I have been trying to figure out the best way to manage screen time - my kids love movies, TV, computer games, Wii, DS, you name it. But too much is not good for the body or the soul and it often leaves my kids grumpy and griping. After having completed all his obligations, Max was enjoying his beloved NBA playoff game and Kenna decided to provide me with company while I was doing the dishes. She pulled out the Children's songbook and began singing song after song. Her favorite is the "I Like to Look for Rainbows" song. In the middle of all this singing, she asked me to sit down and sing with her. She then said, Mom, we should do this more than watch TV because it helps us feel the Spirit. But TV makes us grumpy. Oh, Kenna - you are right! I will take teaching moments like this from my daughter any day.

I loved just catching up on your blog! I would so love to go to Women's Conference one year! Seems like such an uplifting, spirit filled event!! We should go together one year! Your pictures are adorable too!! Cute blog posts!
I just read today from last conference that the best time to share your testimony with your children is when it is spontaneous and unplanned. Oh and often too :) So good job Mims and Kenna.
Wow, you must have felt so proud that some of the things you say are actually sinking in! Kenna, will you please tell my children how much more fun it is to sing with Mommy than to watch a movie they have seen 100 times before?
