First thing in the morning - this girl was born at 6:46am so it was only fitting that we get her in all her glory! So it HAPPENED. Kenna's 6th birthday finally came - the day she had been talking about and planning for months. The day which was sure to instill pure happiness in the honoree. The expectations were so high, that I was kind of worried about letting her down. Luckily, she emerged from her room in a state of happiness (reveled in our decorated door tradition) and continued to be to enjoy the all-about-Kenna day even into the evening.
Decked out in her Birthday shirt and pants, Princess Kenna was happy to gobble down pancakes with LOTS of cream. We brought her a Chik-filet sandwich for lunch and of course made sure everyone in her class was treated to ice cream.
The celebration continued on her arrival home - out to ice cream (really you can NEVER have enough), drooling over the birthday loot displayed across the mantle, and enjoying no chores, and special TV viewing privileges! No wonder this girl loves birthdays.
Thanks to Grandma, we had a sparkly new crown to don for our celebratory dinner. Kenna's menu consisted of: Meatball sandwiches, blueberries, watermelon, and spinach; followed by chocolate mousse cake - she happily ate it all.
Finally we got to the present unwrapping (by this point the kids are just bursting). The funny thing was, when I asked her what she wanted for her birthday, she told me "Get whatever you think I would like." She did say that she wanted a small basketball that was just hers. So while Cade was sure to sample it, she did get that. Pixels, fancy dresses, a dollhouse, camera, books, A-1 sauce, Uncrustables, and more but when asked what her favorite gift was - the bubble-gun we bought for $3.95 of course! Happy Birthday Kenna! So glad we have a princess in our home!
