While we were on vacation, one our Texas friends organized a big group with Texas ties to meet at a nearby park for giant slip and slide fun. They had huge commercial banners lined up down the hill and while the hoses ran, the bodies were soaped up and thrown down in thrill seeking fashion. Cade and I tried it together a few times - quite the experience - we had no control. In the words of Max, "This is way better than I thought it would be!" Seriously a riot.
On a side note - we had to bring a picnic to the park with us. We decided to strop by "The Sweet Tooth Fairy" to try their treats. Cade fell in LOVE. They had these star cookie - I had to hold him up so he could see them in the counter the WHOLE time we were there. He was more than thrilled when that baby was all his - who knew one could be so obsessed?

My boys also found a great climbing tree. They could easily scale up its beautiful split trunk, find places to rest and sit, and flex their muscles as they reached toward the sky. I love that it isn't too hot to play outside.
It is revitalizing and makes you feel alive - I am SO enjoying my morning runs here as I watch the hot air balloons rise over the mountains. I breathe in deeply and want to hold on to the moment - what a magnificent place.
After a great afternoon with friends, we stopped by my cousin, Sarah's house and they were kind enough to let us stay for dinner. She rang up my other cousin Amy (husband Ryan) and Taylor and we had quite the party. Jens' bearded dragon was the highlight of the night - my kids fed, pet, and let him crawl all over them. Taylor showed off his trampoline skills (he's an award winning trampolinist and you may just one day see him in Cirque de Soleil), and we enjoyed yummy take-out while we visited in the backyard. Besides Cade's awful sleep deprived tantrum, I love days that just work out.
