Butterfly Wonderland

Kenna's been talking about butterflies for several weeks and has been keeping a keen eye out for them. I decided if she was that into butterflies, it was time to hit the Butterfly exhibit at the Natural Science Museum. So we found an open day, got Kenna decked out in her butterfly gear -shirt, skirt, even shoes!, and headed downtown (something I rarely do anymore) to experience the rain forest-like atmosphere of butterfly land. There were lots of fun exhibits about bugs - we found out that in many cultures they eat them! Kenna and her friend Emma got a thrill looking at the disgusting roaches and of course loved seeing all the beautiful butterflies flying everywhere in the butterfly section! They did a great job identifying the different kinds and were surprised that butterflies like to eat fruit just like us!

Of course their most favorite part of the afternoon came after we left the museum. They discovered an enormous puddle and couldn't resist - I love the looks of shear enjoyment on their faces. We went home a little wet but happy - just the right amount of adventure for the day.
