With such beautiful Spring Break weather (and me not being in skiing condition), we decided it was finally time to check out the Heber Creeper. It is usually too cold or too hot when we are in town but so with temperatures in the 60's we had to jump on it. True to its name - the train DOES CREEP, but we brought Old Maid cards and snacks to help pass the time. Our trip began in an old (and pretty crowded) train car - but we progressed to the snack car (you can never have enough snacks), and then ended up in the open air car where the kids were intrigued by an Alabama cowboy and loved twirling around a pole.
Some highlights from our trip were...seeing a saddled horse running off alone and then discovering his abandoned rider quite a ways behind him (that guy had a LONG walk ahead of him), checking out the partially frozen lake w/duckies in it, the "moo" cows, grandma, and getting shakes after it was all over.
