Cute Landon at the ready bench
For the past 6 weeks our lives have been swim team. Getting up early for practice and waking up EVERY Saturday before 6am! Swim team life has its own traditions and practices. Every Saturday we arrive at around 6:15 and the area outside the pool is transformed into a tent city - games, coolers, swimmers getting sunscreened, sleeping toddlers - it's all there. Each swimmer has their event numbers markered on their arm. Then it's into the pool for an early morning warm-up. Kenna and friends enjoy coloring their bodies with pictures and slogans like "Eat My Bubbles!" The rest of the day consists of waiting, snacking, playing with friends, lining up on the ready bench, and swimming your event. Max and Kenna were great and in the end our team ending up winning the whole division! It was LONG and HOT (I worked 2 shifts of the ready bench) but it's the last meet. Our experience has been great but by the end, I think all swim parents and kids count down. We are just ready for a break.
