Due to swim team and other busyness, Max had his friend party on his very birthday. We decided to have a pool party with an outdoor movie (The Fantastic 4 and the Silver Surfer). With Texas in drought condition, this seemed like a fine plan until it rained and rained all afternoon. Luckily the storm cleared and with an hour to spare so we continued on with the plan - hung up the sheet, set up the projector, ordered a TON of pizzas, found the basketball, broke out the silly string, bought the pool water guns, set up the concessions stand, and ready to go.
I'm pretty sure the boys had a blast - I even overheard someone say "This is the best party ever!" as he was being blasted with silly string. Not much movie watching happened unless it was while they were jumping around in the pool. They boys hopped from the pool, to the basketball court, to the trampoline, and back again with occasional eating in between. They were perfectly happy and that's all that mattered.
Max requested eclairs instead of cake for his birthday - he loves these things and so apparently do a lot of others.

I love the concession stand! That seriously might be the coolest party ever. Lots to do, yet low key enough that you can hang out and goof off, plus delicious food. Good work Mama Mimi! You know how to throw a party!
