Crib woes

Brett mastered the art of climbing out of his crib on Christmas Eve. Because he couldn't open the bedroom door, we thought this might be ok - especially because he could easily climb back into his crib and with a little prompting would do just that. Unfortunately, after about a month, his escapes from the crib were becoming more and more frequent throughout the night. These escapes were complete with crying fits and eventually door openings and wandering around the house, waking up his siblings with candid conversations, his parents (who were less than pleased), and completely messing up his nap schedule for the next day. After several days with very minimal sleep, head colds, and basic misery - Mike said enough! We are planning to move Brett into Max's room right before baby #4 but until school's out - we are not ready to deal with Brett keeping Max up all night and escaping from the big boy bed. But for now, we have instituted the crib tent (thanks Mike for driving all over town to find one) and it is absolutely wonderful! Brett didn't like it much at first but now it is like a cool sort of fort and he doesn't even attempt to get out - we don't even have to zip it up anymore. I know, he's kind of  like a caged animal - but it is definitely worth it!

Mike said ENOUGH, huh. I would have to. I know so many people who have used those tents and love them. I really can't wait to find out what you are having. Often times I feel guilty for not having another, but then reality sinks in.

One of my Sister-In-Law has this and she loves it. Both of her children were great at getting out of the crib. So out came the tent. I do agree they are really funny looking. But hey, do what you have to to keep them in there.
