I'm 5!

It's hard to believe our Kenna boo-bear turned 5! She was too cute - checking to see if she was tall enough to turn on the light in her room now, trying on all the swimsuits under the bed that are size 5 (they are still too big), and wondering when she is going to go to the big school. Funny how the number changes over night but not much else seems to.
The morning started out with our decorated door tradition - Mike scooped her out of bed and took her out in the hall to check out the streamers and candy gram. Honestly, does a fresh out of bed look get much cuter than that? (I know, Mike's pretty cute too.) Because it was a school morning - I didn't go all out and for breakfast - but the hard boiled eggs and cinnamon roll were right up this birthday girl's alley.

After breakfast, Kenna begged me to wrap her presents (she was a bit surprised that they weren't all ready and set out on the mantel upon wakening - but Mom had a late and somewhat crazy night and figured some things could wait until morning. While Kenna watched movies in the other room, I was able to wrap everything. Now the only problem was - she was ready to open and no one else was home. I KNOW, it must be such torture to see all those pretty presents and not be able to open them until dad comes home. Luckily, grandma had a sent a package that daddy didn't have to see and Kenna gladly tore into it - love the fancy sunglasses!

Kenna had decided that ON her birthday she wanted to swim in the pool and get her nails done. While the pool was heating for later that night and went to get Kenna's friend Lauren for our nail salon adventure. We went to cutest new place where they had special chairs just for little girls. Kenna sat in a butterfly chair/Lauren in a bear chair complete with their own DVD players and they both got the full pedicure/manicure experience. When we returned home to play, Lauren gave Kenna the cutest Fancy Nancy dress-up set - I couldn't refrain from taking pictures of these two while Lauren helped outfit Kenna! Oh to be a girl! - these 2 just kept dressing up (if only there had been such fancy outfits when I was growing up). We frosted cupcakes and both girls consumed enough sugar for the day off of just ONE cupcake.

Kenna finally got to open the rest of her presents when Dad came home and she was SOOOO into it. Kenna really does make the best facial expressions - I love that she is still so easily excited by her gifts - she kept telling me all night that her favorite part of her birthday was opening the presents. We also had the celebratory birthday dinner and enjoyed an evening of swimming. It was a fun day for all - thanks for giving us a reason to celebrate little Princess!

5 Things I LOVE about Kenna:

1. She wakes up happy

2. She is so girly and since we only get one - I'm glad I can do all that "fancy schmancy" stuff with her

3. She is always up for trying out new activities and rarely complains

4. She is one funny girl

5. She is a great helper, game partner, wonderful project girl, and to her - so much of life is magical

Our world just wouldn't be as Rosy without her - HAPPY BIRTHDAY KENNA!!!

Kenna, what a great birthday celebration! I can't believe you are already 5 years old. What I love best about you is your warm hugs and your intense determination to finish a project. Kenna, you are one fun and delightful little girl. You remind me of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz -- you love your family and home. I Love you whole bunches, Grandy

I love that she tried to reach the light switch and tried on the bathing suits. That is awesome. I really should try to do new things on my future birthdays. She is adorable!! Happy Birthday Princess Kenna Benna!
