Our Chicago get-away was a great break from the everyday routine. The weather was freezing and we didn't do anything extraordinary. But just spending time with my husband, getting to read a book, take a nap, shop for hours without children, go to a movie after 10pm, and eat out somewhere nice everynight was wonderful. At this point in my life - these are life's luxeries. We did walk around a lot, ate some Chicago-style pizza, checked out the Pier, and managed to squeeze in an architectual tour of the city's skyscrapers (who knew there was so much to know about them!).
It was fun having our friends Ashley and Jason there too - the girls could shop and the boys could do whatever it is boys do. Just a quick get-away, but sometimes that is all you need.

Looks like you had a fun trip. You guys both look so happy and rejuvenated in the pics.
Looks like so much fun! It's nice to have a break once in a while.
I miss that city. I grew up in a suburb 20 minutes north of Chicago and it's such a great place! I visited with my sisters and mom last year and had so much fun. I'm jealous you got to visit. I am glad you had such a fun trip. Isn't it nice to get a break from responsibility for a few days?
