The Beach

Northern California's cool air didn't make it feel like beach weather but the kids did not seem to mind. We had a great time playing in the sand and jumping the waves. Oh the freedom you feel at the beach!

Kenna did tell me that next time we go to CA she does not want to go to the beach. Why? you may asking - "Because I don't want to have to take one of those showers!" Because the kids got VERY sandy and they all had to strip down and rinse off before getting back into the car.

I think watching the kids play in the water is almost more fun than playing in it. I love seeing them happy!

My dad is and always has been a great kite flyer. I remember many afternoons as a kid playing on the beach (in RI) and flying kites. I love that he takes the time to fly kites with my kids and develop in them a love for those colorful air flyers.

It wasn't long before Jacob was ready to fly the kite on his own. That kid loved it - he could have held on to the kite all night and pretty much did. It was so fun to spend some time with our Boston cousins, Andrew and Jacob.

This looks like so much fun! I wish that we could have been there to join. Maybe next time.

I agree with Kenna. The worst part of the beach is trying to get clean afterwards. The rest of it looks like a blast though!

I hate washing and vacuuming sand for weeks after, but the beach is so fun! I guess it makes it all worth it. I know, sorry we couldn't hang out more. That trip to CA right in the middle threw it all off for me. That was my free week before B's family masses came into town.
