Max is 7!!

How I love this sweet boy. He is such a great helper, someone I can talk to, lots of fun, & so big! I keep looking at him and thinking, "How did he grow up so fast? Where is my little boy that loved planes, Pooh Bear, throwing everything in the garbage, and who couldn't live without his mom?" I still remember when he declared to me at the age of 2, "Mom, when I grow up, I am going to marry YOU!" Now he LOVES the NBA, golf, building forts/castles/etc., game boy and the Wii, and being with other boys more than his mom. (Luckily he is still affectionate and gives lots of hugs and love.) The other day he even made "No trespassing" and "No girls allowed" signs for his door - I always wondered when that day would come.
Anyway, Max turned 7 before our trip & like any good mother, I stretched out the celebration. We had a homemade birthday dinner on Sunday with Mac and cheese and yummy chocolate mousse cake. The next day, he woke up to a decorated door and candy gram, opened some early morning presents (golf shoes just in time for golf camp) and enjoyed a french toast breakfast.
A friend came over after camp, we went out for ice cream & began to open presents. We hauled the remaining loot over to Salt Grass Steak House that night - we drew a bit of attention with our table full of presents and kids but isn't that how it always is? Finally after our dinner, we headed to the climbing gym where Max and Kenna got harnessed up and began scaling the walls. I think we were all a bit exhausted by the end of that day but seeing a happy Max who got to do all he had wished for on his birthday was definitely worth it.
Later that week, we had a Laser Tag party with 12 of his closest friends. Nothing better than playing video games and shooting each other in the dark - and the best part - easy clean up for me!
Happy Birthday Max! I love you to PIECES!

Wow! Seven! That did fly by. He seems so grown up. Is seven really grown up? I wish they could stay little and innocent forever.
His birthday sounded like loads of fun....can you adopt me?

Max is awesome I agree! But you are quite the mama throwing so many celebrations for this boy's birthday. I'd have to say I'm pretty jealous... and I'm wondering why I wasn't invited to any of these parties. Maybe it's the no girls allowed stage.

What a great birthday! I would have loved that for my birthday! I still remember being in CA waiting for the call of Max's birth. How time flies. What sweet boy! Happy birthday, Max!
