Cade's birthday is a much anticipated event for everyone. There is something about celebrating with the youngest that makes our family excited! Cade's traditional eating of cake for breakfast may add to this excitement. So early that Thursday morning, we quietly got everything ready and headed up to the birthday boy's room as soon as we noise coming from there. This year the Cade was absolutely thrilled with all the attention and LOVED the candy gram - being my junk food junkie, that alone would have made his day. Goldfish in hand, my big 3-year-old headed down for his special flag day/birthday cake and ice cream breakfast. Something about doing the nontraditional makes everything more enjoyable. So enjoy we did but then we had to hurry and get ready for a morning screening of Madagascar 3 with all of Cade's friends - it was going to be quite the Party!
The theater was a bit chaotic - we saved a whole row of seats and placed food orders as each family arrived but once they were munching on pizza and popcorn, almost everyone was happy. It turned out to be pretty entertaining (maybe not for our friend Ben, who cried the whole time - 1st time at the movies) and had a catchy circus tune entitled "Afro Circus" that just would not leave your head. We had to hurry and open presents before the next shift of movie goers arrived. Trucks, planes, batman stuff, games, - Cade LOVED it and eagerly packed it up in the car to take home.
The rest of the afternoon hours were filled with new toys and pool time - it was perfect. Cade was so excited about his presents this year - he soaked in the Happy Birthday song and anxiously dug into the wrapped goodies, happily exclaiming as he discovered each treasure underneath. This boy is such a joy! I cannot believe my baby is 3 but I am enjoying it all at the same time. I love how his siblings rally around him and everyone is happy to help Cade. He has an energy and love for life that is contagious. Our home would not be the same without him.
