Our summer has been busy and on many days I feel just like Cade here - I want to curl up and crash. We've had lots of early mornings, full Saturdays and days full of activities. But our last swim event for this year was today and while we were honored to be able to participate in it, we'll be glad to sleep in on Monday. The kids didn't start swimming until almost 11 but we were slated with 7:15 warm ups - yuck! It was rainy and even a bit chilly but the kids dove in, swam their strokes, and then we left for breakfast.
Our raspberry pancakes were delish but we still had time to kill after they were finished so we headed to the temple grounds which were not too far from where our invitational was being held. Max was in dire need of sleep so he stayed in the car and dozed but Kenna and I checked things out. The flowers and plants are always beautiful. We took in the fountains, walked around the whole building, and I even showed Kenna the waiting room that she could visit. It's such a peaceful place - a nice change from the crowded and noisy classrooms we'd soon be spending time in during the invitational. The kids did great - Max's competitiveness came out when he swam against a friend and he ended up clenching a ribbon. Once home, it was pajamas all the way and a relaxed evening full of promise because the second half of our summer is about to begin!
